Customise the navigation key shortcuts on Nokia 6288 1 Year, 2 Months ago
The functions of the blue selection key buttons either side of your Nokia 6288's central selection button, and the four-way navigation key around the central button change according to the network that supplied your mobile.

Generally the left button gives access to applications, settings and bookmarks through the Go to menu, while the right selection key often gives single-click access to your network providers internet services. The navigation keys will also be set by the phone provider but by default are Camera (up), Contact Names (down), Calendar (right) and New text message (left).

All of these functions can be changed to meet your own requirements. From the Nokia 6288's standby screen, click Menu, select Settings and click Select.

Scroll to highlight My shortcuts and click Select. You'll see the current settings for the Left and Right selection keys, and an option to view the settings for the Navigation key. The method for changing the function of any key is almost identical for all six.

To change the function of the Right selection key, for instance, highlight the Right selection key option in My Shortcuts and click Select. The available functions are listed.

Use the navigation key to highlight the function you want to assign to the right selection key and click Select. Click the red End key to return to the desktop and the new function will be assigned.

To change the function of one of the four navigation keys, highlight Navigation key in My shortcuts and click Select.

You'll see the functions of the four navigation buttons listed alongside an icon representing the direction (in the order up, down, right, left). To change the function of the left navigation key, highlight the fourth line and click Change.

Again, highlight the function you want to assign to the key and click Select. Click the red End key to return to the desktop and the new function will be assigned.
