iPhone cannot sync photos (error -39) to Apple TV 12 Months ago
I cannot sync my pictures anymore through ITunes and get an error -39 (on a sidenote, I cannot sync pictures to my Apple TV either).

I updated the software the other day and by doing that, it reset the phone so everything on there was lost (happened to everyone who updated). I tried to sync the photos and it won’t work. Neither my Apple TV or my iPhone can sync photos, and I receive the error -39. I’ve download all updates that I am aware of and still no luck.

Try creating a new album in iphoto.
Keep the album empty and sync the iphone only to this new album.
This will remove any photos that you sync’d to the iphone.
Now put a few photos into the new album and sync the iphone.
If it syncs ok, add a few more pictures and sync the iphone.
Keep going through this process until you get the same error.
If you get the same error, then you know that one or more photos in the last batch is causing the error.

I’ve managed to get rid of the error message now. I fixed the problem by deselecting the Sync iPhoto option in iTunes, and then at the next prompt I deleted all the photos on the iPhone. It looks like it was something wrong with those photos, because I then re-synced, and no more error message! good luck
